Join us this June over four nights at Aria for a series of drink and snack events showcasing NSW’s vibrant wine and food scene. Each evening will be hosted by a NSW winemaker at the top of their game, and wines will be complemented by snacks that highlight some of the state’s most exciting produce, created by Aria’s Executive Chef, Joel Bickford.
Sessions are two hours long. Tickets are $85 per person and include two glasses of wine, tastings and three snacks. About Kate Sturgess Kate Sturgess joined Brokenwood Wines in 2015 as Assistant Winemaker and was promoted to Winemaker in 2019. Growing up in Brisbane, Kate moved to Adelaide to complete her Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Adelaide in 2011. Kate's experience extends through a number of Australian wine regions as well as time at Culimna Estate, Okanangan Valley, Canada in 2012. Here in Australia, Kate gained experience at Wirra Wirra, De Iuliis Wines, Mount Langi Ghiran, and as Assistant Winemaker at Balnaves of Coonawarra. Most recently, Kate has been included in the 2021 cohort of Wine Australia’s Future Leaders program, and was nominated for Winemaker of the Year at the Hunter Valley Legends Awards 2021. In 2016 Kate completed the Advanced Wine Assessment Course (AWAC) through the Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) and has been involved in judging at various National and local wine shows since 2014. |
